WASHINGTON D.C. - Truman Center for National Policy 501(c)(3) is proud to welcome Amy Serafino (she/her/hers) as Director of Development. Reporting to the President & CEO, Serafino will focus on developing relationships to ensure Truman’s visibility, impact, and financial resources. In this role, she will be responsible for securing high-level strategic partnerships, expanding and diversifying Truman’s donor base, and growing the organization’s newly established Board of Advisors.

Amy is an experienced and nationally-recognized development leader. Her successful track record in a range of senior nonprofit roles, including those focused on democracy and national security, makes her the perfect addition to Truman’s leadership team,” said Truman’s President & CEO, Jenna Ben-Yehuda. “We’re thrilled to have her.”

Serafino has over 20 years of experience in nonprofit development, including senior development roles at the Center for American Progress, PFLAG National, the American Heart Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and other national and community-based organizations. Her passions lie in equitable democracy, human rights, prosperity, and security.

"Truman is a highly esteemed voice in the fight for democracy, human rights, prosperity and security of all of us - at home and abroad,” said Serafino. “I look forward to working with individual, corporate and foundation communities to ensure the resources for principled, innovative solutions to our pressing national security challenges. I am honored and excited to be a part of this important organization."

As a former member of the Board of Directors of the National Center for Transgender Equality, Serafino is a strong ally of the LGBTQ community and advocate for equitable, inclusive policy. Serafino earned her B.A. in journalism from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in public relations.
